Registration is now open for the Florida Department of Health’s World Heart Day 5K Walk and Run that will take place at Summerlin Park at Wilson Lake in Bartow, Fl. World Heart Day is an annual observance in Florida that was created by the World Heart Foundation. The purpose of World Heart Day is to educate and promote awareness of heart disease and strokes as the world’s leading cause of death.
In recognition of World Heart Day, the Florida Department of Health in Polk County and Hardee County will be hosting a 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, September 24th at 7:30 a.m.
In order to make this event a success, we encourage residents to register and invite loved ones to participate! Help the department make Florida a safer, heathier, more heart-healthy environment!
